Also known as the beaver moon…
The Full Moon in Taurus
November 5, 2025 @ 9:19 AM EST
Sun at 13 Scorpio; Moon at 13 Taurus
Sun and Moon sextile & Trine The Nodes
Welcome to this gigantic moon! This full Beaver Moon was named by the Native Americans. They honored the “behind the scenes” work during the tranquil and colorful Fall, where they are busily creating homes for their families and preparing for the winter’s chill…
Astronomically, this moon and the December full Moon are in perigee; that is, in the orbit of the Moon, it will be the time and the place where the Moon comes closest to the Earth, and therefore will appear larger and brighter… Enjoy this spectacle!
Whenever there is a full moon, we are given the energies of culmination or completion… What had begun in the new moon phase can see its conclusion at the full moon…
This Fall season is a particularly active one… not that it is on full blast, but it does carry energies that can hold our attention and that will require our comprehension. As you can readily recall, the Scorpio season always carries heavier emotions, decisions, and more complex emotional patterns with it… For me, it carries a strange grace…
a call to greater sense of purpose and a larger degree of wholeness; Rarely, if ever, does the Scorpio season leave us without some issue or concern that will need to be redeemed, integrated, or understood. So be alert; be wary; Be willing to work on any area that has been neglected or that is overdue for a reform. Specifically, wherever Scorpio lands in your chart, that will be the areas of life that will most likely come into greater focus or demand…
As I see it, along with other astrologers, the shifts and movements of the planets during Autumn are becoming the indicators, harbingers and prognosticators of all the truly transformative energies and activities that will commence in the Winter and the Spring of 2026. Keep these potentials or signposts for future events in mind during my next four reports that will take us into 2026.
We have an entry point of significance and two retrogrades that will have value and influence on the coming days and into 2026… We have Mars entering into Sagittarius, and we have Uranus moving back into Taurus. Additionally, Neptune regresses into Pisces, which because it is so slow, could be one motion of a more lasting importance.
Before we can begin to discuss the full moon in Taurus, there are some important transits and entries/exit points that need our attention as they can influence or “set the table” for what could happen during the holiday season…
The first of these is Mars entering into Sagittarius on the 4th…
When Mars transits one of his own fiery elemental signs, it is like being given a green light to step “ on the gas- just being careful to move and not to just spin your wheels!”; Here is what the website, Astrodentist, has to say about this first week of the month. They state that:
“These days bring a lot of drive, energy, and a thirst for adventure. The call of freedom is strong and may tempt some to take reckless actions. Avoid acting on impulse unless you are ready to embark on an adventure with an uncertain outcome. Powerful constructive forces are available now. Love relationships could become very passionate.
It is not the best time to make long-term commitments or swear eternal fidelity, because the situation could look completely different tomorrow. Unexpected events may upend your plans.”
Depending on where Sagittarius is located in your chart, you can experience a flush of energy in that part of your life! It will be where you will be the most impulsive and daring; the most creative and enterprising! If you are planning “get-away” this would be an ideal time for an inspirational or an educational learning adventure! (a medical caveat: Sag rules the hips and thighs, so it might be prudent to test your balance, and since Mars encourages sports and, yes, almost any risk taking(!) it might be better to postpone your rock climbing, marathons, and skydiving lessons, and maybe take up Tai Chi or tango dancing!
Next, we have the retrograde of Uranus back into Taurus, as a last visit before moving on to Gemini next Spring…. For one last time, the planet of transformation and change will focus on what has remained unresolved; the left-overs, or ignored, and will concentrate more on the material side of life- that is, money; land, precious metals, and will encourage changes to the bottom line of our country’s resources … Not to be outdone or left off the areas of importance or as a focal point, Taurus also rules food, agriculture and food supplies… A crucial concern across our country…
Next on the list of moving planets, Venus enters Scorpio on the 7th… and lets be frank here… She will square Pluto, so those few days- the 7th to 12th, could be very emotional and our sensitivities might be acute! We will need a lot of patience and empathy, a willingness to share and clarify feelings etc., and to extract clarity out of any professions of love!
Neptune retreats to Pisces… Moving just a few degrees backward, the planet of idealism and illusion offers us a 6 month review and respite from the more acute issues that can be more direct and difficult. Not that Neptune is a breeze or a boon, we are given this time to sort out what is real, fro what might be a delicious or dramatic illusion, and we are given greater access to those ideals and values that support our spiritual understanding and soulful growth. Lets use this time well!
Mercury goes retrograde on the 10th…. Astrodentist offers these thoughts:
“On November 10th, 2025, Mercury goes retrograde at 6° Sagittarius. Mercury will stay retrograde until the end of the month, turning direct again on November 30th, at 20° Scorpio. Mercury retrograde is one of those astro routines we religiously revisit every 3-4 months.
There’s no way around it, and whether we like it or not, Mercury retrogrades are necessary. Otherwise, there would never be lessons learned, no opportunities to fix things, and all those subtle course corrections that might not sound as exciting as a Jupiter trine, but make our lives easier in the long run.”
There appears to be an emphasis on paperwork; those details that wind up on the bottom of your “to do” pile… Take the time this month to unearth these neglected issues, and begin to check them off, resolve or discard them, and lighten your load of responsibilities and replies before being too quick to assume more details and deadlines…
Now, let’s begin our description of this full moon and its possibilities… We receive guidance from Lena of the Shamanic School. She writes:
“There are two main themes to this super moon. One is working with expansion, abundance and new potential, the other is pushing through the resistance of change and letting go of the known edge of comfort. The time frame brings up all of our needs for comfort and the support of the physical body, its sense of safety, known patterns and habits. These need to be honored through some self care and nourishing of home and personal space. On the other hand, we are being nudged and urged to dream outside the box and expand our intentions to include more abundance and a step into the bigger picture of our lives. What do you desire that you have not allowed yourself to dream about?
Watch for stubbornness and take careful and intentional steps towards what you have clarity about. It is a good time to reflect on intentions, old and new and to discern what to keep on that plate and what to let go of.”
Another insightful summary comes from Simone Butler who writes for the Mooncircles column. She observes and advises this:
“The upcoming Taurus Full Moon (November 5, 5:19 a.m. PT) is great for conjuring miracles, big or small. When the Moon in earthy Taurus opposes the Sun in shadowy Scorpio (at 13 degrees), it casts a powerful light on the realm in which the ancestors abide – helping us summon them. This lunation (and the Dia de Los Muertos period through early November) has long been honored by witches, magicians and ancestor worshippers. This grounded Full Moon has extra power as it happens during an exact trine between Jupiter in Cancer and Saturn in Pisces – a powerful combo for manifestation. Adding to its promise, the Moon’s ruler, Venus, strong in her own sign of Libra, squares growth-oriented Jupiter.
One caveat: Mars and Mercury are close together in early Sagittarius, which can prompt impatience, especially as Mercury is at a standstill, about to turn retrograde on Nov. 9. Fiery Sagittarius wants things to happen NOW, but manifestation may take time. Also, be sure that what you’re asking for is what you really want! If you’re patient, you’re apt to see results by early-to-mid December, when Mercury returns to early Sagittarius after turning direct”
