January 19, 2026: More on Minnesota & the Spiral of Violence Playing Out There (MF)

As we continue to witness the abuses of ICE’s assaults on people of color, but also white people who dare to protest these horrors, we are also seeing some tiny cracks in Trump’s base.

Even Joe Rogan, the MAGA manosphere broadcaster who convinced many young men to vote for Trump in 2024, is speaking out on the “horrific” deportations and “gestapo” tactics* currently going on.**

There is also a connection between the still unreleased Epstein files and immigration, insofar as a large number of Epstein victims were apparently trafficked from abroad. Threats to invade Greenland, Columbia, Iran and more serve to distract from the Epstein files. But we have not forgotten.

January 20, 2026: A Report From the Ground in Minneapolis (MF)

We share excerpts from a letter by a woman in Minneapolis who chooses to remain anonymous, for obvious reasons. She says: Things are FAR WORSE than anything the mainstream media is presenting. There are too many videos to share, and far too many ICE raids, beatings, abductions, and other crimes to even begin to count. She says that she and everyone she knows is “tired and angry” and “shaken to the core.”

With over 2000… ICE agents here and another 1000 on their way, it is a deliberate political targeting of my state. One of my coworkers witnessed Renee Good’s murder. I know many people who live in that neighborhood, where ICE is absolutely relentless. The notifications for raids and abductions are nonstop–-all hours of the day and night. At times, they’re going door to door–-lately kicking in the door armed to the teeth, entering illegally without a warrant…. They are also abducting white legal observers, including those who offer no confrontation whatsoever.

January 21, 2026: Report From the Ground in Minneapolis, Part II (MF)

We continue to share here excerpts from the letter of a Minneapolis mother. Like every parent here, I worry for my daughter’s school because they are, yes, targeting schools. Last week they attacked students and staff at a Minneapolis high school. Yesterday it was a middle school and elementary school.

ICE is at day care centers and preschools. Many kids can’t even go to school now because there’s so much fear they or their parents will be taken. Thousands upon thousands of people are afraid to leave their homes to go grocery shopping, visit food shelves, get medicine, or go to work.…

But make no mistake–we aren’t backing down. I’ve lived a lot of places in my life, and I have to say they chose the wrong freaking state. People are organizing beyond anything I’ve ever seen in my life, and it makes me so damned proud to live in this city. I’ve never loved it more, and I’ll keep fighting for it.

January 22, 2026: How MAGA’s SCOTUS Lit the Fire Burning American Democracy (MF)

How did our country get into such a sorry state? A good part of the blame needs to go to the un-Supreme Court. In 2010, in an insane ruling, Citizens United declared that corporations are people, giving them and billionaires practically unlimited rights to buy elections.

Then SCOTUS deliberately dragged its feet for many months to guarantee that Trump wouldn’t face charges before the 2024 election for his dominant role in the January 6 insurrection. They also delayed the trial for his crimes in stealing highly sensitive documents and putting them, unguarded, at Mar-a-Lago.

He thinks nothing of invading cities with his “personal” militia, otherwise known as ICE, employing Gestapo-like tactics. He threatens politicians who do not agree with him. There was a day when SCOTUS appeared to be on the side of truth, justice, and the Constitution. Not now.

Mother Jones reporter Pema Levy explains a new legal term, “Kavanaugh Stop,” from Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s defense of a Supreme Court ruling giving ICE permission to launch raids and detain people based on racial profiling.

January 23, 2026: King’s Optimism & Realism amidst Temptations to Despair (MF)

Here are some excerpts from an essay that MLK, Jr. wrote shortly before he was murdered. People are often surprised to learn that I am an optimist.… They have no comprehension of the strength that comes from faith in God and man.… Man has the capacity to do right as well as wrong, and his history is a path upward, not downward.…

While it is a bitter fact that in America in 1968, I am denied equality solely because I am black, yet I am not a chattel sIave. Millions of people have fought thousands of battles to enlarge my freedom….

White America must recognize that justice for black people cannot be achieved without radical changes in the structure of our society. The comfortable, the entrenched, the privileged cannot continue to tremble at the prospect of change in the status quo.

January 24, 2026: In the Midst of Madness (GG)

The prospective invasion of Greenland would force NATO to expel the U.S. from that alliance, but would most especially cause the collapse of the value of the U.S. dollar, as other countries sell their U.S. bonds as a measure of protest against Trump’s imperial madness.

In spite of all this, Trump keeps pushing. Perhaps he thinks that the resultant civil unrest would be an opportunity to advance his dictatorship, cancel elections, etc. Meanwhile, friends of GG’s are traveling to Minneapolis to put their bodies on the line, as thousands of citizens of that city do on a daily basis….. One Greenlandic shaman, Angaanagaq, is a leader in the IceWisdom project, which is committed to bringing the wisdom of the Far North to people all over the world.
