Full Moon & Lunar Eclipse

Saturn conjunct Neptune; Chiron conjoins BML
Sun Trine Jupiter; Saturn & Neptune Sextile Pluto
Welcome to the next eclipse! It is the lunar eclipse of Pisces/Virgo
And it provides us with a more personal, emotional, and incentive towards self care and compassion…
However, before I go further into this description for you, I need to take a personal step back…back to Friday afternoon, when I was considering what to write about when I looked at the chart, and saw some more ominous and troubling patterns that could emerge!
If you are a student of astrology, you most likely have learned about the possible unleashing of power that can occur, especially concerning our last, recent solar eclipse. Astrologers speak of “a triggering effect”; when certain planets have the capacity to contact the degree the eclipse was on, and how that contact/conjunction can incite or initiate a definitive action that can explode or alarm.
The most often “culprit” is the energy and action of Mars, and his more militant triggering ability when it contacts the degree of the eclipse! Occasionally, it can also involve Uranus, as it conveys sudden, unexpected, erratic energy releases… The event/episode/experience most often happens within 90 days of the eclipse… in this case, it was within a week!
A quick review… that last eclipse, in February, was a solar eclipse at 28 degrees of Aquarius… Mars was safely behind, but Uranus was an almost exact square- excitable, but not yet explosive!
What heightened my alarm on Friday, was the closing connection of Mars to the 28th degree- the eclipse degree- and what that conjunction could mean and what kind of “fireworks” it could set off!
Along with the square of Uranus that only moved slightly over these intervening days, Mars landing on the eclipse point could ignite a difficult and dangerous outcome!
And upon waking on Saturday, I was greeted with potentially disastrous news of the latest military actions between the USA, Israel, and its military attack on Iran! (Mars rules the military; Uranus rules sudden attracts…)
Politics aside, the branch of astrology that deals with world, national, and material events is called Mundane Astrology. Experts in this particular branch of astrology carefully can track world events, and the activities of public people, nations, and governments etc. and from their analysis of its potentials, they will outline what the possible outcomes of what these planetary alignment(s) could mean…
While I profess to be a generalist among astrologers, I have to credit my awareness of these eclipse rules and their triggers to both my Saturday morning anxiety and amazement that these astrological insights could anticipate such an unfortunate outcome!
I will begin this report by asking you to remember that Mercury is moving backward, or is in retrograde, until the 20th of March! If you do not know the “rules” yet, please refer to my last report, and here are some other excellent insights that will help you to understand and to cope with the Mercurial situation. Here is what astrologer and therapist Suzanne Gerber has to say about this retrograde…She writes:
“For starters, cerebral Mercury is both in detriment and fall in touchy-feely Pisces. If Mercury were a fish, it would be very out of water in Pisces. Its left-brain M.O. involves gathering data, then analyzing it using logic, pattern recognition, categorizing, sequencing, and calibrating. In other words, lots of gray matter activation!
Pisces, on the other hand, operates through the right brain’s native language: images, feelings, resonance—and the kind of knowing that just arrives without your having to logic your way to it.
Where Mercury parses, dissects, and evaluates, Pisces dissolves, surrenders, and intuits its way through a problem. It’s a genius at image creation and absorption and is comfortable with emotions and even paradoxes. Pisces is the dream, and Mercury is the interpreter. Neither is “better,” but understanding their distinctions can help you better navigate the next three weeks.”
Another take on this retrograde period is aimed at dispelling the most negative or alarming information about what to do during a Mercury retrograde. It is a summary taken from the writings and teachings of Alex Myles. She advises:
“Many people believe Mercury retrograde requires avoiding major decisions or postponing action completely, yet that idea creates unnecessary fear. Growth continues through every planetary phase because your life does not pause when a planet appears to move backward. What changes is the way you approach decisions, conversations, and commitments.
Career conversations still happen successfully during this time when you prepare carefully and communicate clearly. … Confirming meeting times, double-checking presentation slides, and anticipating possible questions reduces confusion and create stronger outcomes.
… If you are negotiating a contract, reading every clause thoroughly ensures you understand expectations and responsibilities on both sides. Asking direct questions about deadlines, payment terms, and deliverables prevents misunderstandings later.
Invitations still arrive, networking opportunities still appear, and collaborations continue forming when you respond thoughtfully, instead of rushing into agreement immediately!
Creative ideas often become stronger during retrograde because reflection improves quality. You might revisit a project you started weeks ago and suddenly see where it needs refinement. Editing your work, reorganizing structure, or improving details elevates the final result beyond your original vision.
Relationships continue evolving through honest dialogue and emotional maturity during this transit. … Listening carefully without interrupting creates space for deeper understanding and mutual respect. … Speaking calmly about your needs and boundaries strengthens connection rather than creating distance. Emotional clarity during this time leads to stronger bonds and healthier communication patterns.
Financial opportunities still present themselves, especially when past efforts return with improved structure. A job application submitted earlier may receive a response during this period. A previous business idea could resurface with better timing or stronger support from others. Reviewing your budget, checking subscription payments, and evaluating spending habits increases financial stability. … Careful planning strengthens confidence in your financial direction…. The key difference during this time lies in the quality of your attention. …
Practical awareness becomes your strongest ally throughout this period. Double-checking flight times, backing up digital files, and saving important emails protects you from avoidable stress. … Thoughtful action creates stronger results than rushed decisions.
Pisces adds spiritual depth to this entire process by increasing intuition and empathy. You may feel more connected to your inner guidance when making choices. Trusting that inner signal strengthens confidence and reduces doubt. … Mercury retrograde in Pisces ultimately supports clarity, alignment, and advancement when you combine reflection with thoughtful action.”
Because it is the Pisces season, I will expand my report (!) to include the imaginative, the inspirational, and the romantic, as it can be found within astrology. Not ordinarily given to follow or include the asteroids in my chart readings or analysis, I found this enchanting article from Proteus Astrology to pique my curiosity, and so I thought I would share it with you…
Kieron Devlin, an astrologer based in London, expands and explores our astrological and mythological understanding of asteroids in this recent article on Psyche and Eros. He writes:
All is Fair in Love and War
“The mythological story of Eros and Psyche is eternally fascinating. … Their orbits go in slightly different cycles but roughly every 4 years they come together in the skies. That will happen next late evening on March 1st, 2026. So find where it is in your chart – 14° of Gemini as that can pinpoint exactly why in 2026, love and passion can flourish … Love takes place as much in the mind as in the body or heart. Anyone with the names Sara, Philomela, Roberta, Ella or Mildred might feel this conjunction more personally as those Personal Name Asteroids conjoin with Eros and Psyche at this middle degree in this chatty sign. …
[He adds this to his report] Knowing your Venus and Mars placements may be enough to understand the psychic landscape, the magnetics of attraction-repulsion in love. The planetary forces interplay strongly via conjunction, sextile, square or opposition. …”
These insights are intriguing and fascinating for me… The next time a couple comes to me for a compatibility reading or a synastry, especially if they plan on marriage. I have found that doing these readings helps them to know each other better and be more aware, more compassionate, and more fully ready for their commitments.
Now focusing on the Moon and the eclipse on the 3rd…
Aristotle gave us a key quote for understanding this eclipse. He penned, so many years ago, this advice that still holds true: “The ideal is the enemy of the good.” The Piscean desire for everything to be just right, beautiful, truthful, romantic and ideal can create enormous dissatisfactions and discouragements because it’s not grounded, not realistic, nor does it comprehend the complexity of our lives… This full moon accentuates this tendency towards only wanting it “in that perfect way” which created a lot of unnecessary conflict and disappointment.
Because this moon is also sextile Jupiter, it tends to expand and enlarge any issue beyond its more balanced and realistic context. This almost always guarantees failure or at least a setback…Which can be a valuable gift to your progress or your deeper understanding …
You are like Edison or any other famous inventor. You benefit greatly from your failures, because they teach you that you need to approach life or its many problems differently- that failure or disappointment are wisdom teachers… They correct us, and make our more lasting success more viable, available, or assured!
An event worth noting follows closely on the threshold of this eclipse:
Mars enters Pisces late on the 2nd, briefly squaring the moon as it enters into Virgo, the energy shift Mars makes can seemingly move from active to passive; from outward and demonstrative to inward and more pensive and muted or indecisive, and can have some overall influence in shaping or coloring the effects of this full moon in that it provides an inward energy that follows from the earlier burst of outward and possibly aggressive energies that are present in the latter degrees of Aquarius.
When one looks at the full moon chart, we are drawn to the larger oppositional energies and tensions that will occur over the next few days. With the moon in Virgo, it opposes 4 planets, leaving Mars quickly behind, and those tensions can easily be seen between the more imaginative and metaphysical Pisces energies and the practical and pragmatic moon that will analyze feelings and motives. That scrutiny is not welcomed! It provides an additional layer of tension to how we can receive this full moon and her influences.
Being located in 2nd decan, this moon will exhibit a Cancerian flavor that complements the Pisces qualities. It might make one more sensitive to one’s home life, your mother, and what you eat and how you care for others…. It will allow you to “tune in” in a more definitive way, to loved ones, and activities and events that pertain to ancestry, nutrition, spirituality, and compassion for all those who are limited or confined in some way…
Celestial Blessings, Peter
