Pentecost:

From my book: Spirit, Time, and The Future:

  A Sacred Invitation

An inclusive, creative, and a Spirit filled approach towards the future centers us on this pneumatic and soulful truth: That we are prophetically called, and that we are mystically invited into the fullness of life.

We are prophetically called by our ethical concerns and our humane principles that encourage equality, dignity, and being a compassionate witness. We are mystically invited into greater spiritual participation by our courageous inner seeking aspirations to live more fully in the light of God. …

The purpose of a religious community or any spiritual group is to unify and repair all the broken and split parts of our humanity. Then it is to gather together to listen attentively as the Spirit educates, inspires, and moves us.

When we take the time and have the fortitude to listen to those messages with our hearts, and then be willing to move as we discern their deeper meanings, we humans can come together to build a better world.

“The guide for interpreting that direction is called the Holy Spirit, and as it works through human beings; we become the mind and heart as well as the hands and feet of the body Of God on our planet. … A “New Pentecost” awaits us. As a cosmic event and as an intimate experience,

Spirit beckons. She calls to us and will accompany us along the journey of social change and self transformation. Spirit will be our ever- present guide that will lead us towards the ripeness and fullness of Soul.

At its core and within its essence is a call to divine daughter and sonship, to live in the light  or in the consciousness of the Spirit that was in Jesus as the Christ.

We, too, are to become avatars, way showers, or personal embodiments of that light for others in our world.

Just as there are photons in every atom, there is the light of God in every soul.

The divine radiance shows us the creation and illuminates the transformation of every star, every blade of grass, every child born to us. The Spirit of God continually creates the universe, and sustains it eternally through ceaseless acts of universal compassionate love.

As a new millennium continues to unfold over and around us, Our great task is to prepare for the Spirit’s appearing as the anticipation of a new consciousness that an individual can experience and that a church, a community, or a culture can share.

The New Pentecost invites us into relationship- into a covenant of caring for the earth,  and for one another. Spirit will truly affect us to the degree we act on her invitation, and how willing we are to accept her grace as the central and vital force in personal and cultural change.

Let us welcome her with an expectant heart!
