Full Blue Moon in Sagittarius
May 31st, 2026 at 4:45 AM EDT
Sun at 9 of Gemini;
Moon at 9 of Sag
Sun sextile Saturn;
Moon biquintile Saturn
Let’s begin our look at this full moon with a summary of its possibilities and as a reminder of previous lessons that might still be needing to arrive at a decisive crossroads/conclusion that is given to us by Lena, of the Shamanic School. She writes:
“Also known as a Blue Moon, this is the second full moon within the same month, a rare and infrequent occurrence. A full moon is always a time to reflect on what you need to release and it can shed a bright light on what needs to happen for you to move to the next step on your path.
There are other influences around this full moon that suggest some unexpected situations could occur creating a need for flexibility, responsibility and deep healing.
The best approach to this Full Moon is to be open and accepting and willing to look at and tell the truth about whatever it is that you are processing in your life, and whatever life lessons you are learning or completing at this time.
What can you truly let go of that no longer serves, and is only in your way of moving forward? Think of old resentments, old patterns, regrets, shame, guilt, and bad habits as areas to recapitulate and release.
This time frame offers a great opportunity for a huge reset if you are ready to embrace it. This may not come easily and may require moving through some hardship and discomfort, but it will be worthwhile in the end.
It is helpful to be physically active to help move the energy as well as to be inspired by something of beauty. Let the emotions flow as a cleaning and clearing of your spirit, much like washing your windows in order to see more clearly.
To anchor this clearing symbolically, you may be inspired to clean and clear something in your physical environment. Do it with the intention that it represents a personal emotional clearing and reset.”
As I see it, this full moon comes to us with an invitation to stop any negative patterns, habits, outlooks or self-defeating behaviors. It is aspirational in tone, but shows a pragmatic approach that blends humility and awareness into what needs to be looked at and then resolved.
We are given the heights of the Sagittarian ideals and ethical perspectives, and along with the tamping down, “feet on the ground” energies from Saturn, we are looking at patterns of society and self that need correction and, at the very least, recognition of what needs to be done, what needs to change!
Here is what astrologer, teacher, and Substack author Elisabeth Grace explains as the nature of Gemini Sun energies and how they are balanced through this Sag Moon. She writes:
“A Full Moon in Sagittarius illuminates the relationship between facts and meaning, information and wisdom, the local story and the larger truth. Working through the curious, conversational, and fast-moving lens of a Gemini Sun, this lunation encourages questions, debate, learning, publishing, travel, and the sharing of ideas — with a caveat against exaggeration, propaganda, and the temptation to mistake certainty for understanding. Sagittarius can be so righteous in its convictions, doncha’ know.”
Geminii Sun is conjunct the Fixed Star Aldebaran, which is said to be fortunate — but grants honors only through combat. Hmm. The US Uranus conjunct Aldebaran, and the US begins its Uranus Return soon.
You are more personally affected by this Full Moon if you have planets around 10 degrees of Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces.”
Speaking of paying attention to early degrees, please remember that the innovative and disruptive planet, Uranus, is traveling slowly through the early degrees of Gemini… usually carrying with him some radical shifts and maybe a thunderbolt or two that disrupts and transforms your life and its situations!
Susanne Gerber, astrologer and psychotherapist, offers these insights for you to consider. She writes:
“If you have any planets, angles or major points between 0-5º Gemini (or any of the other mutable signs: Virgo, Sag, Pisces), whatever they represent in your natal chart is likely to undergo some kind of upheaval.
But please don’t freak out. Trust that you live in a benevolent universe where the planets are symbols for life events, relationships and modes of being that your higher self signed up for before you incarnated and let your ego run the show. The spiritual cliché is true: Things don’t happen to you, they happen for you.”
Lastly, one of the daily writers I will often read and gain insights from is Robin in her column, Wicked Veracity. Here are her summaries for this moon cycle and how it could influence you by your rising sign…
(You can find it free on a variety of websites, or if you choose to work with me, it is included in all my consultations…).
“Jupiter is exalted in Cancer and Mercury is at home in Gemini, which means the two planets running this lunation are operating at their best.
It’s joyful and more than a little exciting and great for shining a huge spotlight on your Sagittarius topics. Maybe it’s a new beginning you’ve been hoping for (that has a ton of long-term support) or a celebration of something you’ve already been working towards.
- Best for: beginnings, planning, big-picture thinking, celebrating, sharing what you’ve learned
- Potential Challenges: overconfidence, taking on too much, overpromising
So where is all of the excitement? By rising sign:
- Aries: This is about your higher education, foreign matters, religion, philosophy, long journeys, or astrology.
- Taurus: This is about death, fear, debt, inheritance, or your relationship to what scares you.
- Gemini: This is about marriage, partnerships, contracts, open enemies, or lawsuits.
- Cancer: This is about work, illness, daily labor, coworkers, employees, or small animals.
- Leo: This is about dating, romance, creativity, pleasure, gambling, or children.

- Aquarius: This is about your friends, your allies, your long-term hopes and dreams, mentors, or the people who support you.
- Pisces: This is about your career, your reputation, or your relationship to authority.
Celestial Blessings,
Peter.
