The Taurus Full Moon

October 26th, 2026 at 12:11 AM EDT

Sun at 2 Scorpio; Moon at 2 Taurus

    Sun and Moon Square Pluto

  Mercury retrograde in Scorpio

and Venus is retrograde in Libra

With the return of the bracing winds of Autumn, we receive another source of bracing and attention-getting activity with this Taurus Full Moon… Following the Venus cazimi with its alerts and its invitations, we arrive at the full moon with its pressures, tensions, and need to continue our evaluation of our progress so far, in preparation for the more compelling energies of the winter and spring of 2027, and of course, while not political, the inescapable consequences of our national elections and how that could influence and the effects that can be on us in the personal realms and dealing with things of value and our financial matters…

As I often begin, here are some observations by Lena of the Shamanic School. She writes:

“Personal comfort, security and true needs are highlighted during this time as well as a focus on personal evolution and the opportunity to learn, heal and grow. Old relationship issues may surface for a final review, especially those connected with abandonment, loneliness and disappointment.

The full moon provides an opportunity to find balance between the container of your comfort and security, and the desire for the mystery of something new, exciting, adventurous and bold.

Take time for yourself and share time with others with an intention for emotional satisfaction. We are now in a time of retrograde where slowing down and being present, focused and flexible will keep you out of miscommunications, mishaps and frustrating delays.”

In beginning this report, I found myself looking over the many descriptions and outlines one can find, and deciding to focus on three things: The Sun conjunct Venus and the Cazimi; Venus opposing Chiron; and The Taurus Full Moon herself. (Yes, I am leaving out Mercury retrograde as I have sent out a summary a few days ago…)

When we begin to evaluate the meaning of this very rare occurrence of Venus at 0 of Scorpio ( It will not happen again in our lifetimes!) The first thing we see is that with any planet or cusp at 0 degrees, it indicates the start of a new cycle or new dimension/expression of Venus energies in our lives. In the following description by Astrobutterfly, it will be best understood when you locate 0 degrees of Scorpio in your chart, and see if there are any other planets that would occupy that same location…

Here is a summary of a long article by Astrobutterfly on the meaning of this meeting between the Sun and Venus, and then Venus Square Pluto and then in opposition to Chiron… They write:

At the Venus cazimi on October 23rd-24th, in the heart of the Sun, Venus is reborn. And a few days later – around October 29th-30th – she returns to the world above, reappearing in the morning sky.

… But most of the time, the fear of the dark works in much more insidious ways. We don’t know we’re afraid. We just go for the comfortable choice. We stay in the light of the day – in the light of what we already know.

… If we look closer, the fear of the dark is really a fear of loss. The fear that what matters to us will eventually be taken away…. We think we’re protecting ourselves. But what we’re really doing is keeping ourselves from living.

…This is what Venus does now. She HAS to go into the underworld – because everything out there, in the light, has started to feel fake and disconnected. The roles, the masks, the rules we follow because they’re safe, not because they’re true.

Venus-Pluto square is a blessing in disguise. In the darkness of the underworld, meeting Pluto no longer feels frightening. It feels more like a homecoming.

Yes, it’s a square. Yes, it’s a square to Pluto. But it’s a square on Scorpio’s terms – Venus is in Scorpio – and on Pluto’s own territory.

Something fundamental that simply couldn’t be dealt with in the light of day can now shift – naturally – in the depths.

… Something that has kept an invisible grip on us, maybe for most of our lives, will let go. We will see it for what it is: a fear of the dark that has blinded us into not living. …

Once we embrace our greatest fear – the fear of the dark – once we accept the uncertainty, the unknown, the inevitability of loss, what remains is pure life.

What is found is the antidote to empty rules and borrowed frameworks, to the masks we wear in the light of the day. It’s the opposite of shallowness, of emptiness, of disconnection – of that nagging feeling that there’s something about life we haven’t quite figured out yet.

… This is the last Venus cycle to start in Scorpio for a very long time. Venus’ dance in the sky follows an 8-year rhythm – she returns to retrograde in the same sign every 8 years, for about 100 years.

Venus began this Scorpio story in 1930, and since then, every 8 years, she has come back to meet the Sun in Scorpio – each time a couple of degrees earlier in the sign.

This Venus cycle that starts on October 23-24, 2026, is the last one. At 0° Scorpio.

A story that has been weaving for 100 years comes to an end.

Scorpio is a tough school for Venus’ heart. In Scorpio, Venus learned how to hold still, how to go deep. She learned about all the Scorpio virtues – trust, depth, and loyalty…

…but the trust, the depth, the loyalty were not given. They were earned. Trust was earned through fear. Depth was carved by intense experiences of love, but also loss. Loyalty was tested through betrayal.

… Over the 100 years, our great-grandmothers, our grandmothers, our mothers – and now us – have been taking Scorpio’s medicine.

Perhaps it started with women losing their men and sons to war – and the lesson was that loss was the price of love. So the body made sure the hurt was remembered.

Perhaps it started with hardship, when resources were scarce – and the message was get strong, hold on to what you had, or sacrifice what you want for security.

Perhaps it started with abuse, and the memory remained frozen over years and decades, passed on in silences and warnings so that the children would remember and know how to protect themselves.

Your fear is not (only) your fear – it’s your parents’, grandparents’, and great-grandparents’ fear.

Your unworthiness is not (only) your unworthiness – it is a deep, unhealed longing for security, devotion, and the certainty that you matter enough for someone to stay.

Your grief is not (only) your grief – it’s your parents’, grandparents’, and great-grandparents’, from a time when it was safer to hold on and survive than to feel.

Now you’ve done the work. All these Scorpio lessons have been distilled, Venus star point after Venus star point, until the very essence is all that’s left. … And here we are – with Venus cazimi at 0° Scorpio, the very last Scorpio Venus star point.

All this carrying ends now. It ends with you.

But the slate won’t be wiped clean. We won’t just leave it all behind and start anew. That’s not the point. That 100-year journey through the underworld wasn’t for nothing. Your mother, your grandmother, and your great-grandmother have all carried a piece of this story so you can get there – to the very essence of it… …so you can find the diamond that they didn’t live to see. The road was paved by them, so you can reach this point. And now, with this alchemized essence of Scorpio love, you can bring the trust, the vulnerability, the loyalty, the depth of connection into the airy light of Libra.

8 years from now, a new 100-year Libra cycle will start, and the Scorpio treasures will find expression in clear communication, equal relationships, in cardinal agency and the recognition that we are the heroes and heroines of our own lives.

As we stand at the threshold of degree zero, take Scorpio’s gift with you.

It starts with you.”

That was another way of delving into a more karmic astrological view…There is nothing about Scorpio that is superficial, as this deep,                       deep to the soul interpretation attests…

Now on to the Taurus Moon, and the insights and lessons she provides for us during this Autumn season…Taurus, being the first of the Earth signs, has always been connected to our physical body and its role in health and well-being…It often displays two distinct traits that will clearly influence our health;

Being obstinate and stubborn- refusing to go see your family doctors, dentists, etc., declaring their denial that “I am alright!” and the virtuous side to this dilemma, a permanent ability to change!

When a Taurus decides that something has to change, the fight is over! They will persist until the valuable goal they have determined to achieve is attained or until the problem, in the case of health, the habit/condition has been tamed or resolved!

Here is an insightful anecdote from April Eliot Kent, an astrologer who uses her challenges as teaching tools. She writes:

“As the Full Moon approaches in Taurus, a sign with a singular appreciation for the physical world, I’ve decided to stop hiding from the ways I’ve been destroying my poor old body. That’s how a Full Moon works sometimes: it shines a spotlight on something that you’ve actually known (or at least suspected) was going on, but had been unwilling to face. I spent a good part of that day regretting how badly I’ve treated a body that wants only to be useful to me. “

And happily, Taurus bears a message of common sense, asking nothing esoteric or magical of us. It’s usually something very obvious and practical that your mom might have told you, like “Stop eating so many Cheez-its,” or “You know that guy is no good for you,” or perhaps “Geez, cut up your credit cards and pay off your debt!” Often, we make life way more complicated than it needs to be, and that’s usually because we just don’t want to make the simple, obvious changes we know we need to make.

Where have you needed to wake up, get real, and get down to business? It could be a relationship that isn’t working, money problems, a house that needs repairs, or the desire to write a book. If you’re having trouble putting your finger on it, look to the house of your chart where 02.45 Taurus falls.

Celestial Blessings, Peter
