Happy Harvest Moon!

What is often considered to be one of the gentle ingress or change of signs, Libra’s Sun is quickly being influenced by many strong and distinct planetary patterns! Given that there are no Earth signs in this mix, and that the Fire element will be soon enhanced by Mars in Leo, we can expect lots of actions and reactions to occur during this full moon period!

So… right away, I will remind you to look where 3 degrees of Leo (Sun) and 3 degrees of Aries ( Moon & Neptune) are in your charts… Pay attention to what houses they are located in, and what aspects they might have to your natal planets…

Let’s start with an overall assessment by Lena of the Shamanic School…She writes:

“This full moon opens the door to more spiritual awakening, intuition and positive evolution. However, even though these aspects provide an opportunity to re-dream the future with optimism, care must be taken with the possible obstacles of illusion and deception. Good reality checks are helpful during this time as well as a thoughtful look at your own potential inner conflicts around what is out of balance in relationships, work, home, and what you do that makes you happy.

There is greater clarity around these issues that will help you to reframe and reset the balance between what you want, need, are responsible for, and where your energy needs to go for more vitality and focus. Be proactive instead of reactive and stay out of conflict. Watch impulsive behavior especially around addictions and self-medicating. We are in the process of a raising of consciousness and sometimes this brings a sense of being ungrounded and unfocused. Look to nature and the earth as an anchor and use your own determination to stay on a good path.

Another assessment, going a little deeper into the analysis of what we can see and expect comes from teacher and writer, Lynn Hayes. She observes this:

“Saturday September 26 is packed with planetary action that carries a great deal of potential for creative exploration and deep introspection (Sun opposite Neptune and trine Pluto). … The Aries Full Moon asks that we balance our own needs (Aries Moon) with the desire to accommodate others (Libra Sun).

This will be somewhat challenging Mars, the ruler of Aries and of this Full Moon, is confronted with old wounds around survival (Mars in Cancer square Chiron in Aries at 29º) that peaks on Sunday September 27 but isthis Full Moon, confronts old wounds around survival (Mars in Cancer square Chiron in Aries at 29º) that peak on Sunday September 27, but are embedded in the Full Moon chart. The intensity of feelings, emotions and drive combines with the transformative force of the outer planets to virtually guarantee that this Full Moon week will propel us into a radically new and more effective personal space.”

Speaking of the influence of Mars in Cancer, we can take heed of what astrologer and research group, Far Stellar, recommends giving our attention to and carefully observing

How these more active and intense energies could appear. They write:

“…The ruler of this full moon is Mars and it’ll be at 29 degrees of Cancer, squaring Chiron at 29 degrees of Aries. Chiron only just came back into Aries, by the way; it stepped back in a few days ago.

Astrology 101 can read this one. Crisis degree, crisis angle. Chiron means it comes at your wounds; Aries means the blows land on your will, on your ability to start something, on the part of you that goes first.

But it’s also how you end up with a very large piece of wisdom. You know how it goes. It happens, the good and the bad of it finishes, and what’s left in you is a having-learned, and that thing has weight.”

Simone Butler from Mooncircles, adds these valuable insights. She Writes:

“…When the Moon is in this feisty sign at the Harvest Full Moon, things come to fruition. Aries is assertive and spontaneous. But a full moon is always a balancing act, in this case with the Libra Sun – an airy, intelligent sign which brings thoughtfulness and compromise to balance out the Aries fire.

This lunation happens just after the Sept. 22 Equinox, when the Sun enters Libra to begin the new season. Now, what we discover through relationships can change our understanding of who we are. The Libra ruler, Venus, has recently entered Scorpio and is swimming through murky territory she’ll revisit during her upcoming retrograde (Oct. 3 – Nov. 13). She’s taking us beneath the surface of issues related to trust, intimacy, desire, power, and the fear of loss. Relationships – including the one with yourself – could become intense or imponderable. Tread carefully and assume nothing, especially with new connections.”

For a more complete understanding of the importance or the potentials of this Aries full moon, we have to directly incorporate the fact that it is conjunct Neptune, sextile Pluto and Uranus! It is a time that allows or encourages “dreams/nightmares coming true?” And other potentially life-altering experiences!  Now some would say that it is the “ripening of karma” and when consequences catch up with previous actions…

It is up to the individual and their charts to reveal the content of the messages that will guide how these events and experiences might manifest!

Appearing on the heels of the annual Neptune-Sun opposition, which for some astrologers will describe as the “great temptation” or the addictive draw we all have towards illusion and fantasy, intoxication and emotional vividness, that next day, it can be absorbed into the Moon’s desire for action and making something tangible out of our reveries and desires!

Not to sound alarmist, particularly if you are someone who is empathic, sensitive, and able to feel the vibrations and energies around yourself more easily than most…

IF you have already established healthy boundaries, and a more discerning approach to any messages and inclinations that could appear, the best advice is to heed or pay special attention to the ones that come from unusual, distinct, and different sources!

In other words, if you are a dreamer and often pay attention to your dreams, focus on those that are distinct, more vivid, or that come from a different place, or contain different images, persons, events etc.

If it is a song you hear that has lyrics that grab your attention… If it is a conversation overheard on TV or in a movie, etc., what is unusual, different and unique, could be most informative, more transformative, and enlightening for you!

Lastly, IF a dream, wish, or desire persists or returns to you often, it asks you to try to resolve it as positively as you can. That can mean giving it up, or it can mean making room for it in your heart and minsd as a new possibility… The task of discernment always remains with you…

Some concluding advice comes from Robin of Wicked Audacity. In her writings, she includes a look at the day, but also offers us a bonus summary of how your rising sign could be affected or influenced by this powerful full moon.  She writes:

“Saturday’s Aries Full Moon could bring out information that changes who has influence over a situation, or a sudden development could break a pattern everyone had grown used to. People are unlikely to sit back and wait for the full story before responding, and that could be useful if something has needed to change.

The catch is that the first explanation could be incomplete or flat-out wrong. A secret coming out doesn’t mean every claim made about it is true, so an accusation or dramatic announcement deserves a closer look before anyone decides what to do next.

  • Best for: Investigating, exposing secrets, breaking patterns, making changes.
  • Potential Challenges: Misinformation, false accusations, impulsive reactions, sudden disruptions.

Let’s take a look at how the Aries Full Moon could show up for you based on your rising sign.

  • Aries rising: A health issue could require a partner or provider to take an active role, or a change in how you present yourself could prompt a response from a client or an open enemy.
  • Taurus rising: The need for rest or recovery could change what you can manage at work or who takes care of a pet.
  • Gemini rising: A friend could step in to help with a child, or a group commitment could compete with time you wanted to spend dating or doing something you enjoy.
  • Cancer rising: A change at work could affect plans to move or renovate, or something involving your mother could influence a decision the family is making.
  • Leo rising: A teacher or someone who lives far away could send news that changes a local plan, or travel could affect plans with a sibling or neighbor.
  • Virgo rising: An estate or insurance matter could change how much money you have, or fear about a debt could affect a spending decision.
  • Libra rising: A partner or client could make a request that changes your plans, or an open enemy could challenge the way you’re presenting yourself.
  • Scorpio rising: An illness could require more rest or time away from other people, or a coworker could bring a behind-the-scenes problem into view.
  • Sagittarius rising: A child or someone you’re dating could change plans with friends, or a hobby could require help from somebody in your circle.
  • Capricorn rising: A family member’s decision about home or property could change what happens at work, or something you’ve kept private could affect your reputation.
  • Aquarius rising: News from a sibling or neighbor could affect a trip or course of study, or a change to your commute could interfere with a class.
  • Pisces rising: A change in income could affect a shared debt, or a decision about spending could raise questions about who is responsible for end-of-life costs.”
